Every summer from June to September, I transferred my London practice to the Greek Island of Alonnisos, offering holiday workshops and private lessons. Alonnisos, one of the quieter holiday islands, is a magical place. With a particular light, and with the fragrance of wild herbs and pine trees it heightens the senses and enhances the work of the Alexander Technique.
I taught in the hill-top village from a shaded terrace overlooking olive groves, sea and islands.
So if you wanted to learn AT for the first time, you could benefit from having a course of individual lessons over one or two weeks, with plenty of time to reflect as you snorkel or rest in the pretty coves and beaches. That way you could bring the rest of the family along for a Greek Island holiday, too!
And if you’d had lessons before, we started working in depth: the environment begs us to stay present, alert and relaxed.
