I was working with a drama student (Crystal) at the ArtsEd this week during a technical rehearsal. I saw that she was standing on stage, slightly braced, the top of her thorax going back and down into her lumber spine, creating a curve and manifesting the mysterious ‘waist joint’. So I got her up and out of that fairly quickly – Crystal is very sensitive and has had lessons over two years . ‘Where’s your costume?’ asked the director. ‘it doesn’t fit me and I’m taking it to Wardrobe’. ‘Do it now whilst we take a break’. So Crystal tootles off to Wardrobe and after the break she is standing on stage in her costume. ‘Did they let it out for you?’ Crystal was asked. ‘ No’, she replied, ‘it was embarrassing really as I tried it on and they said what’s wrong with it? and there wasn’t anything at all – it seemed to fit perfectly’. Then I asked ‘And when did you first try it on?’ Crystal began to reply “2 hours ago…” and then she stopped and pointed at me, jaw dropped, ‘It was you! I was standing up properly and the dress fitted!’
Yes! High Five!
